Daily Nooz

Those of you familiar with offensive_mango's frequent valiant rearguard actions against lazy or outright bad usage of language (even spelling!), see if you can spot the element of this headline from Wednesday's Daily News that might ever so slightly peeve her:
City man sez L.I. cops beat him after arrest

Also gleaned from Wednesday's edition, moving words from veteran news anchor Ted Koppel, speaking at the memorial service of fellow—but dead—veteran news anchor Peter Jennings:
"I am not gay—not that there's anything wrong with that—but from the first time I first met Peter 41 years ago till our last meeting a few weeks ago, I felt a thrill when I saw him."

Should that be "after a rest"?

Maybe the headline is an anagram.

Maybe it actually happened in LA, but the story was filed by Noddy Holder.

Comical zesty nips beat him after arrest - that's the real story.

If only he were a LAZY man instead of a CITY man--then the headline could have been ironic.

Shouldn't it always be "City boy"? Or "City fan".
