Hereditary peers welcome

“I saw this and thought of you,” said strictlytrue as he handed this to me. My unbounded thanks to him, not least for valiantly risking opprobrium from passers-by as he dived into a Westminster phone box and tore from its interior this card that he had spotted.

I have not mocked it up. It is not intended as some kind of clay-fisted satire. The thing is real.

It really is. Although, disappointingly, precious few of them wear bowler hats in real life, and no-one wears a monocle. Perhaps I should show this to noble Lords so they can get a better idea of how they should dress...

If you want cards advertising personal services stolen from telephone boxes, then write to

Include a SAE and don't forget to mark your letter:

"I WANT YOU TO STEAL CARDS ADVERTISING PROSTITUTES THEN SEND THEM TO ME"

Nothing I learn about the House of Lords surprises me.

Oh, wait. is this card *offering* services to hereditary peers *from* a mature lady?

Certainly the fonts are cunningly arranged to appear ambiguous in this regard, but as far as I can ascertain the services are being offered to hereditary peers, not by them.

I am strangely disappointed by this revelation.

Christ. Could you get him to put it back please? Those things cost me good money.

Nice try, but I don't have any mature people on my friends list.
