Once people start protesting in those kind of numbers the politicians have to listen. What I can’t get my head around is everyone saying democracy is the way forward. I don't think it is. Look at us. I lived in Dubai. They have a ruling family and all’s well. Giving the people a right to choose who governs them is a stupid thing to do.

I hope this Egypt thing does not give people in other countries the idea to try to over throw govs.

It is possible - and I'd put it no more strongly than that - that Lawd Shugger is being a tad sarky, given that he's a Labour peer who doesn't seem to have an awful lot of time for the Coalition.

Jimbo though. Always the man to go to for wise words in a crisis.

Slacktivist was commenting on the people in his own community saying that it was sinful to rebel. For instance John McArthur 'they are all in violation of a biblical command – to submit to the powers that be because they’re ordained of God. I’m not saying Moammar Gadhafi is the best leader...
But what I am saying is that believers are commanded to ... subject themselves to the powers that be because they’re ordained of God."

The authoritarians are getting scared. I mean - they aren't saying that Gaddafi is the best leader...
