“I don’t like drinking tea out of dark mugs,” says monkeyssk8. “I think tea tastes different when you can’t see it.”

I dono, they do say you eat with your eyes first. My propensity for wearing mashed potato as a head ornament bears this out.

Drinking tea out of mugs made of brown glass (well, Pyrex or something) is quite offputting.

Oh yes, that's true. And reminds me of smug staff at primary school supping on their breaktime hot drink whilst we, ok, I froze.

You know I am a bit of a freak about this sort of thing. Coffee can be drunk from a darker mug, and a more muggy mug at that. But tea? I like a light mug, more large formal cup than mug, pref bone china really.

I'm w/Monkeyssk8 on this. I suppose it is in part a form of mood muggery.

And a bit like prefering plain white plates to some peach floral nightmare plate for your dinner. Or maybe that was just the associated connotation w/mum's horrid cooking efforts as a child. *shudder*.

Absolutely agreed, although I do like huge chunky mugs for tea, as long as they're not too dark on the inside.
